The Music Studio

Welcome to the Music Studio!

As a private music instructor, I feel that my responsibilities are not just to prepare students for a college music department (as majors and non majors), but to have them enjoy and develop an appreciation for all styles of music, provide musical challenges, music education, and performance opportunities in recitals and group sessions.

The philosophy and vision behind the Music Studio is to develop, musicians and artists of the highest caliber possible not just as musicians but as individuals. Pianists and singers, are taught not just vocal or piano technique, but theory and sight reading that go hand-in-hand, and which are absolutely necessary in molding the accomplished musician. Students learn to perform as artists. When a student learns to perform from the soul, then he/she has accomplished the true art of performing, creating music in the moment, and connecting with his/her audience. Opportunities for performance are given twice a year in a Student Recital, and once a year in a Group Session.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Deirdre Lobo-D’Cunha Music Studio provides a very comprehensive music education to all students. The main goal of the studio is to enrich the lives of not just the students, but their families as well, through the musical experiences, and opportunities offered through the Studio. "I am happy to pass on my joy, knowledge, and lifelong enrichment to students, regardless of their future goals and aspirations, providing them not just the joy of performing but helping them gain the confidence in doing it," says, Deirdre.
